Availability

RLI offers coverage throughout the U.S. with the following exceptions. Policies cannot be domiciled in or significantly operating in AK, HI, LA, MA, MT, NM, NV or NY. Not targeting risks domiciled in or primarily operating in South Florida (south of Lake Okeechobee), South Texas (south of Houston), Los Angeles County in California, San Francisco Bay Area (San Francisco, Marin and Alameda counties), Cook County in Illinois or in metro New Jersey. We define significantly operating in as more than 20-25% of the exposure is occurring there. We will consider risks with incidental exposure in unfavorable venues if the risk is not domiciled there.

Security-specific criteria

$10,000 minimum premium
Our focus is on hard to place security risks.
Fleets typically include: Private Passenger, Light/Medium Trucks and/or Armored Cars
Local/Intermediate radius preferred
Risks with armed and unarmed guards are acceptable
Operations typically include security staffing & placement, security installation, security training or ATM processing/servicing/repair/maintenance
Accounts with both frequency and severity issues are not a fit

Ineligible operations

Accounts transporting valuables in non-armored cars
Risks that detain suspects or have cages/vehicle alterations in the back seat
Insureds that have less than one year of operating experience

Can be standalone or in addition to fleet coverage
Accounts with large non-owned exposure is preferred
Large Independent contractor exposures are not a fit

Standalone hired & non-owned is not available in: ME, MT, TX, MA, LA, HI, NM, NY and AK.

Requirements

Submission clearance requirements

ACORD 125 and ACORD 137
A completed RLI New Business Questionnaire
Vehicle schedule with: garaging city and state, year/make/model, specific use, seating capacity, disclosure of any modifications or permanently attached equipment and stated amount values (in Microsoft Excel format if possible)
Four years of currently valued hard copy loss runs with details on all losses over $25,000
Drivers list with date of birth, date of hire, driver’s license number and state (in Microsoft Excel format if possible)

Additional requirements

Two most recent year-end, audited financial statements, balance sheet and income statement
Current MVRs for all drivers
Acceptable loss control phone inspection or digital risk review

Please note, if financial statements do not meet RLI minimum guidelines, we will not be able to offer a quote.

We may be able to waive financial requirements if annualized premiums are under $250,000 with an average or above average loss control rating.
