Qualifications & guidelines

  • $10,000 minimum premium
  • Fleets with at least 25% ambulances, with lights and sirens
  • At least two full years of operating experience
  • Fleets with five or more ambulances
  • Emergency and non-emergency fleets
  • Employees at least EMT-B certified (preferred)
  • EVOC or CEVO training provided (preferred)

In-house training is acceptable. We do not write ambulance risks with more than 75% wheelchair vans.

Getting started

For pre-approved retail agents and brokers with a solid book of ambulance fleet accounts, RLI Transportation actively welcomes ambulance insurance risks. Agents and brokers can get started by completing and submitting the Ambulance Auto Questionnaire. Our submission requirements include:

  • ACORD 125 and ACORD 137
  • Vehicle schedule with garaging city/state, year/make/model, specific use, seating capacity and stated amount values (in excel if possible)
  • Four years of currently valued hard copy loss runs with details on all losses over $25,000
  • Drivers list with date of birth, date of hire, driver’s license number and state (in excel if possible)
  • Two most recent year-end, audited financial statements, balance sheet and income statement
  • Current MVRs for all drivers
  • Acceptable Digital Risk Review, completed and reviewed by our internal loss control team
