Every A&E business faces risks, and they can never be entirely prevented. They can, however, be minimized through risk management programs. Our goal is to help you reduce the likelihood of losses resulting from most risks design professionals face.

Design Professionals Learning Events (DPLE)

Our continuing education program provides the education resources design firms need. The DPLE series offers more than 125 courses that have been approved by the AIA for continuing education learning units.

Financial Management

This program includes a review of the AIA Financial Management Best Practices white paper to help A&E firms understand the key performance indicators of sound financial management and completion of the RLI Financial Management Supplemental Application.

Project Management

This program includes a dynamic project risk management matrix and to help A&E firms effectively identify, assess, manage and control the risks associated with the projects they engage in. Guidelines for using the matrix and additional risk management best practices are provided in the project risk management matrix instruction guide.

Safety & Risk Management

As a holistic provider of risk solutions for design professionals, RLI posts brief one-page alerts for our policyholders on topics intended to address auto safety, workplace safety, protecting property, emergency preparedness, and other areas of concern.

Earn premium credits

RLI offers a 10% premium credit to design professional firms that participate in our risk management programs. Up to 10 premium credits can be earned annually.

  • Complete our risk management enrollment form (3 premium credits)
  • Participate in RLI learning events (3 premium credits per person per one-hour program). Unlimited course attendance; a maximum of nine credits per firm per year is allowed for a single course.
  • Complete our project risk management matrix (10 premium credits)
  • Completed a procedure review self-analysis (4 premium credits per review)
  • Complete the financial management review (10 premium credits)
  • Participate in continuing education provided by other organizations such as AIA, ACEC and NSPE or an approved RLI-appointed broker. Prior approval by RLI required; premium credits earned determined upon approval.

Once enrolled, participants will receive invitations to our risk management program offerings. Each firm should ensure that at least one of the individuals enrolled is participating in a minimum of one DPLE webinar/seminar per year.

Please note, up to eight premium credits earned in excess of 10 premium credits may be carried over to the following policy year.
