Through charitable gifts, educational scholarships, volunteer programs and our employees’ continued generosity, we are using our resources to strengthen our communities and the nonprofit organizations that serve them.
Our goal is to improve the vitality and resilience of the communities where our employees and customers live. We fund programs, initiatives and organizations that align with our corporate values and enhance quality of life for families and children through a focus on education, health, social and human services and the arts. Our approach to philanthropy emphasizes outcome-based funding and results. Since 2011, RLI has made more than $7.9 million in charitable contributions through its Charitable Gift Fund.
RLI supports the causes and charitable organizations that are most important to our employees by offering a Matching Gifts Program. When employees contribute to an eligible charitable, educational or cultural organization of their choice, RLI will match their donations, up to $3,000 per employee each year. The impact of the Matching Gifts Program is far reaching and supports hundreds of organizations throughout the country.
One of the most valuable philanthropic assets RLI has to offer communities is the passion, talent and energy of our employees. Our employees have a reputation as leaders in the community, as volunteers who make a difference and as generous donors to thousands of worthy causes across the nation. Each year, employees receive a day of paid volunteer time off to benefit the organizations that matter most to them.
Engaging employees in community service extends the positive impact we have on the communities where we live and work. It is also an opportunity for employee development, as employees often gain new skills and leadership experience. A significant number of our executive team members and employees serve in leadership roles with non-profit organizations and on United Way funding committees.
RLI also hosts locally-led events throughout the year that support charitable causes, offers access to group volunteer activities, collects donations for those in need and recognizes employees who are involved and giving back in their own ways.
Every RLI employee is given a day of paid volunteer time off each year.
Over the past three years, employees have used more than 3,800 hours of volunteer time off to support numerous community organizations and causes.
Since the inception of the RLI Charitable Gift Fund in 2011, more than 4,000 charitable gifts have been made to non-profit and community organizations nationwide.
RLI has matched over $1.7 million in employee donations to charitable organizations, since 2011.
